feb. 18-20,2011

My group mates and I went first to our community. Our first community is Brgy. Bunganay. Brgy. Bunganay is rich in fishing culture. There are so many issues that can be tackled. We went first to the Brgy. Captain to ask for permission. Together with the Brgy. Councilor she accompanies us to the target community. We interviewed one of the fishermen who own a bakulong or a big fishing vessel. We take pictures of the fishing materials and equipment. After that we bid goodbye.

Our second community is Brgy. Buangan, town of Torrijos. We left Boac at exactly three o’clock in the afternoon. We arrived there at exactly five o’clock. We settle all of our permits. The dinner is superb. Carmila’s father serves us adobong pusit. I and Carmila woke up one o’clock in the morning. We ride on the pangulong a big fishing vessel. The sea is not that calm and it is making me dizzy. There are so many things going on that time. There are twenty five people on the vessel. There is a big catch. We have seen the actions on raising the fishing net. It is full of great catch. We went ashore seven o’clock in the morning. I am feeling so dizzy and hungry at the same time. We rested for a couple of hours. Two o’clock in the afternoon, we ride a jeep going back to Boac. What an experience!!

Our third community is MSC Gasan, School of Fisheries. We interviewed some student according to the facilities and stuff that they have. We asked them to explain to us everything about fishing culture. They even explain to us how everything functions. We stayed there for a couple of days because of the seminar.
